Monday blues?

I don’t know what it is, but I feel off today. It started last night. I’m not sure if a weekend full of hanging out with friends was a little shocking to the system or if it’s hormones or something else… Perhaps this is the lack of endorphins after going 2 days without a workout or the reality of having to return to work after an unexpected but much appreciated 4 day weekend.

Regardless, shortly after waking, I noticed this and actually felt like today would be a struggle diet-wise. It may be a struggle, but I’m not going to let it get me. After all, it’s the first day of March, it’s a Monday and it was light out when I woke up at 6:30! Too many new beginnings to fubar this one.

What do you do when you feel “off-track”?
This week’s priority has GOT to be catching up with friends.Throughout the past 2 months, I’ve had a bunch of evening work commitments, some nutty duty nights and a gym schedule that ends up with me sitting on the sofa after 8pm lacking the mental capacity to have an intelligent conversation. Ugh!
Somehow, despite planning 3 meals, 2 snacks and dessert, I was below 1500 calories for the day, and I know I’ll burn more than 3000 calories, so I adjusted the menu below to add 2oz of chicken and olives with lunch and a glass of skim milk post-gym/before dinner. Quite honestly, I can/should probably add another 200 calories to the day. That may come in the form of another slice of banana bread with some fat free Greek yogurt at some point.

AM SNACK:
coffee w/half and half
1/2 a slice of Cooking Light’s classic banana bread

BREAKFAST:
egg beaters
Arnold’s sandwich thin
LF cheese slice
1 slice turkey bacon

LUNCH:
5 oz grilled chicken on a salad packed with veggies (mushrooms, red peppers, green beans, carrot, celery) with homemade balsamic vinaigrette and green olives
slice of whole grain bread, toasted with 1/2 TBS strawberry jam
pear
a 25 calorie square of Lindt dark chocolate

PM SNACK:
apple & 1 TBS peanut butter
green tea

WORKOUT

TBC (60 minutes)
spin or a 30-minute wog (it depends on who the spin instructor is)

POST-GYM/WHILE DINNER’S COOKING SNACK
1 glass organic skim milk

DINNER:
fish with fresh dill
oven baked herbed potato “chips”
salad w/homemade balsamic

DESSERT:
sugar free Jello w/all natural “Cool Whip” (no trans fats or HFCS)
green tea

1800mg sodium
